I am an MD/PhD student at the University of California, Irvine.
I am an alumna of Azusa Pacific University (‘15, ‘17), where I received a BS in Biology (minors: English and Spanish) as well as an MA in English.
I recently completed my second year of medical school, and will begin my PhD studies in UCI’s Department of English in 2019.
An enduring fascination with the mind, brain, and memory fuels my clinical interests; I wish to pursue a career in neurology. I am also deeply invested in the Medical Humanities, particularly the intersections between medicine and literature.
My current projects include: literary analysis of Alzheimer's Disease illness narratives, explorations of medicine and technology in the works of Edgar Allan Poe, and archival research in the field of Inklings Studies, particularly surrounding Inkling and physician Robert E. Havard.
In my free time, I enjoy poetry, embroidery, and other creative endeavors.
